That paragon of intestinal fortitude, soon to be former Speaker Paul Ryan (Reagan Clone-WI) offered his dearest condolences for the Parkland high school gun massacre, and then bravely announced that this was just not right time to discuss responsible gun reforms.
Of course not. It’s never the right time. After each and every such preventable disaster, the ghouls in the gun lobby and their sycophants invariably tell us it’s just too soon. The death toll mounts, the hearts get broken, nothing changes… And then we get yet another grisly gun massacre.
Natch, it’s all about the Benjamins. The gun lobby whines “what about our sales” and their pet politicians suck up the NRA’s campaign funding so they won’t risk losing their precious sales. Oh, concerned citizens, are you frightened about your safety? Just buy our guns and ammo! And help us make sure you can!
Maybe it is time to discuss gun control laws now. Maybe it is time to stand up to the monsters among us, to defy the NRA and their fiendish friends in the gun industry. Maybe it’s time to invite spineless, soulless hypocrites like Ryan and such to clean out their desks and hope to collect their ill-earned pensions.
